I have pale skin and blue eyes and have naturally mousey blonde hair, I started off with highlights and now I get it dyed platinum because the shade suits my skin colour. I would get some highlights to brighten your hairstyle up and perhaps get some layers put in. Its amazing how much a new hairstyle can change the way you feel. If you are unsure you can always go in and have a consultation with a stylist and see what they think would suit you.

Yo :) I think you should get hylights. Since your eyes are blue and your normal hair color is brown you should hylight it with the reddish brownish color and a little dirty blonde because I have a friend that is like you and she has her hair highlighted that color. A lighter shade of brown that what your hair naturally is would look nice, with some coppery redish highlights. If you want to dye your hair an extreem coulor then i'ld go for some highlights first. Also all red dyes will suit most people with brown hair.

Have a mixture of copper and a golden blonde keep these a nice thin streak and this willl lessen regrowth also just have the golden blonde around the front near your face this creates a nice sunkissed look which is far more flattering than a full head colour to start off with .

If your eyebrows are dark, then I wouldn't suggest going bleach blonde! Highlights are probably your best bet, as they lighten hair as significantly, or as subtley as you want.

what the chocolate monster said. All brown with a good haircut and spikes looks better given your facial features and skin tone. Also consider letting your hair grow to shoulder length. Takes time and is a pain to take care of but looks good on most guys.

I am not a big fan of how it looks now. But I have black hair with kinda blond highlights, when they did the highlights, since I have so many other colors underneath, its turned awesome. so I have reddish, dark brown, light brown, and blond throughout the black. Hey, my names Tara and I totally think layers and lowlights would look amazing, especially if your going for more of an edgier look. But i would swoop the bangs to either side if your going to get low lights. I work at a salon so i understand why your worried but dont be, you can always undo hair color but i would suggest finding a picture of a cut you like and bringing it in then having an actual conversation about it with your hairstylist so you know you will get what you want. Also i have gone from natural bright blonde to dark brown last winter and ive had low lights, darker underneath lighter on top, basically everything so if you need anymore advice let me know! i hope ive helped!

Im a hairdresser and I dont think the color you chose will do much cause your hair is darker.

If you want to go to a brown, sorry but u have to lighten your hair with a gentle cleanser or with a light bleach, then put the 5N through it. by the way I dont reccommend u doin it your self cause you may leave the lightning cleanser on for too long and then u may ruin your hair.

You shouldn't use this product. If you're hair is naturally dark you won't be able to lighten it wth that. The only way to really lighten dark hair is to bleach it and then dye it. If you use it you just won't see a difference. I have dark hair and have tryed this it doesn't work. I also worked in salon, where people have wanted to go lighter and the stylist says that's not possible without lightening your hair first.

highlights won't make you look washed out. They will actually accentuate your hair and skin and make them more vibrant. Just don't do really light blonde hightlights, something in the gold tones.

Black will probably be a weird contrast. Why not dark brown instead? Red would probably look better out of your suggestions.

However instead of highlights maybe you should opt for lowlights, which are not as obvious because they are not on the top layers of your hair, and then you don't have to worry about your hair looking streaky or the roots looking bad. Make sure to get them done professionally, too--home highlighting kits often look very cheap and bad.

I think you should highlight your hair blood red. I have pitch black curly hair, and trust me, it won't look good with blonde. No offense. If a bright color mixes into a pitch black color, it would look very odd. Think about lime green with black, yeah it's a cool combo, but not on someones hair....

Red is a color that tends to bleed. It may bleed into your blond and turn it pinkish in some places, that would look wrong. And black would look okay if you did small pieces, not huge chunks. But keep in mind you'll have to always be redying to upkeep it. OR you could do your underneigh layer a dark brown. That would look so cool!

I would not recommend either of these colours for a natural blond hair colour. Try highlights of different shades of Blond maybe honey and caramel. The darkest I would go would be a light warm brown but mainly on the underneath layers. blond and black would only really work if you were looking for a very extreme look but I think this would only work well if the blonde was a white peroxide blonde with only one or two well placed highlights to accentuate the style. Warning!!!!! always go to a professional salon leave jobs like this to the experts. DIY this at your peril.

No, I don't have any pictures, but if you don't want to take the chance of it looking bad I would get it professionally done. At home kits are rather iffy, if you're not willing for it to accidentally turn out wrong.

You can do a medium to dark blond highlight. I agree that you should have it done professionally. If it is too bright for you you can ask them to mix in lowlights as well.

I googled picture but they were hard to find. If I were you I would get strawberry blonde highlights... Just a shade lighter than your natural hair color so they look better and less bold. However, since your hair is red, highlighting it with blonde die would probably give you the same effect.

DEFINITELY get it done in a salon. They can custom make the die so it's exactly the way you want it, and it'll look much more healthy. It's also better for your hair.

If you're doing this at home the best thing to use for red hair is a streaking kit like boots own make or superdrugs own make, they are the best. Do a strand test first then you'll see the colour before u do your hair and decide if it's what you want.

If you go to the hairdresser they would charge about 鎷?0 plus and will do a strand test for you and you can choose your colour or they can say what will best suit you.

To answer your question...yes it would look great. But think of the process and what your putting your through to get it blonde and caramel. As a hairstylist...I really wouldn't recommend it just for the simple fact that you will be doing the worst kind of damage to your hair. Taking it form a 1(black) to a 10(blonde) is severe damage. If it's something that you really want to do...find a great hairstylist tin your area. Have a consultation. get some treatment. Reconstruct the hair. And gradually add the highlights. Less damage is always better. Good Luck!!!

I have darkish blonde hair with caramel highlights and i feel like going a bit darker. any tips?

Use a semi-permanent hair color which is a dark blond or lightest brown. (colors tend to look darker than expected from the swatches you see.)

Apply it all over or have a stylist do it.

It is more gentle on your already processed blond hair and should hold pretty well, because it will be somewhat porous.

Buy a shade lighter than what you want. Hair color always comes out darker thatn what you see on the box. And do a strand test first to see if you like it. I would go for a carmel color. What color are your eyes?

Well, I think highlights on a guy is a little questionable. But I live in the mid-west. Guys usually don't do that around here. One of my friends just moved to Vegas and got them there and he's getting great feedback (not from his friends here), but keep in mind his hair is short.

The great thing about color is you can change it. If you hate it or it looks to gay you can always change it.

Besides, if you don't like your hair long then cut it. I think men look best in short hair styles. People may just say they like it best because that's what they are familiar with.

The style that is SO IN is the layers or shag look. But dont let your top layer get above your eyes. Let your top layer accent your best feature! I have the same prblem - everybody likes the long hair, so I got it layered and now everybody loves it! And I do too!
