I just got highlights a couple days ago and they look rilly bad on me :-( I was just wonderin if there was any way to make them fade a little bit...someone told me shampooing it alot helped...My highlightes r like 2 different shades of blonde. I dont want them to go all the way just tone them down a bit...also lol i got a haircut and its a few inches to short from what i would like...i decided to try somethin totally new and it totally backfired on me lol but how long does it usually take for hair to grow like 3 inches???

BLONDE WILL NOT FADE AS THE HAIR IS BLEACHED. bleaching means to take out the natural pigment in the hair (the colour that our hair appears to be) but we all have the same undertones to our hair (hence why we go through stages whilst bleaching. from black to brown to red, orange/ginger then yellow and finally pale yellow) therefore it won't fade as it isn't a COLOUR with artificial pigment that has been put on (like red, brown, etc..) i would suggest you try to tone the highlights off with something like born blonde: http://www.clairolprofessional.com/dispe... these are temporary so you can use them safely, they will tone your highlights to a nicer blonde shade.

highlights lift color out of the hair so you wont be able to fade them it would be different if they were lowlights bc u areputtin a darker color in. but you're stuck with ur highlights unless u put color over them which u dont want to obviously.

Yeah go to the drugstore and get a toner.you just wash it in and rinse out...or go back to the stylist

Like anything else, a new hairstyle and colour may seem like a great idea - and often it looks great. So give yourself some time to get used to it - new sometimes takes a little getting used to.

The highlights will fade (shampooing will help) but it will take time (probably a couple of weeks at least).

And it will grow out, but that will take a few months (hair grows about half an inch a month).

At Sally Hansen you can buy this shampoo and conditioner called Shimmer Lights....that's what the hairstylist told me to do when i didn't like my blonde highlights....its supposed to get the bronze/copper tones out and it works....its in a purple bottle and the actual stuff is purple....but it works great:)

Thats easy just use like, a clarify shampoo every day, any the chemicals in the shampoo will be to hard on the chemicals in the highlights and will eventually make the highlights go away.

your highlights will fade in time

what you need to do

is keep shampooing it

and in a couple of weeks when its

grown a bit

have it cut this will get rid of dead ends

and encourage new hair growth

enabling the highlights to fade
