Should I pay & tip my hair stylist if he is fixing highlights gone bad?

I had highlights done on Saturday and they didn't turn out like I thought they would. I have seen my stylists work and he always does a great job. I'm not sure what happened but thy are way to light (Golden) and they stop about half way down my hair. I have very long dark brown hair and I wanted a dark caramel highlight. Help!!!

If he is the one that messed it up, it depends... Did he know exactly what you wanted to do? If he did, and if you are a returning customer... and he just messed up, I don't think you should have to pay him. I think you should tip him though... he messed up, he's human... and he's fixing it for you... that deserves something, whether or not it was his fault. No one is perfect.

If it wasn't his fault, then there's no reason for him not to charge... but I'm assuming it was him who messed it up.

I wouldn't pay if you didn;t get what you asked for...maybe a tip but i;m friends with my stylist so she would correct anything for free...

It's his fault. He should fix it. You can tip him for his time, but you shouldn't pay him to fix his own mistakes. . .

not at all, the tip should be given as a sign of satisfaction..

its not a must at all!

If your stylist is fixing a problem that he did then hell no you dont pay for it...If he's a good stylist he wouldnt let you pay for his fu** up

Should I pay %26amp; tip my hair stylist if he is fixing highlights gone bad?

Nope! I sure wouldn't. He didn't do it right the first time. Why pay and TIP him for doing a bad job?!

Should I pay %26amp; tip my hair stylist if he is fixing highlights gone bad?

If he did'nt style it how you wanted it then you should not give him one dime.

Should I pay %26amp; tip my hair stylist if he is fixing highlights gone bad?

Absolutely not. Don't feel bad either, he made the mistake he can fix it. You already paid and tipped when she did it the first time.

Should I pay %26amp; tip my hair stylist if he is fixing highlights gone bad?

No he should fix it for free. If you want to tip because you are happy with the way that he fixed it then that is up to you and a judgement call, after all you are going to be going back to him. However he should not charge you as the only reason you are going back is because you did not get what you paid for.

if the person fixing the problem is the one who caused it, then no tip is necesary..your initial payment still stands as you were not satisfied. If someone else is fixing it, and you are happy, then the choice to tip is yours.

discuss how they didn't turn out how you like. I don't think he would deserve a tip for fixing his mistake....at least that is the way your question sounds to me. No matter what happens....i hope when you get it redid, it looks wonderful

閳?br> good luck

If you called and let him know what happened and he told you to come in to get it fixed, then it's understood it's HIS error and there's no charge. If you simply don't like it and want it redone, then the correct thing to do would be to pay him again.

Sounds like it was his error, though.

I wish you well!

No you shouldn't it was his mistake, he needs to fix it without charging you nothing.

Should I pay %26amp; tip my hair stylist if he is fixing highlights gone bad?

u shouldn't pay or tip if u are going to the stylist that originally did the job- only if u go to a different person should u pay and or tip.

next time make sure that u get what u originally asked for and check urself well in the mirror in the salon before u leave and assure urself that u absolutely love ur hair and the final results.

No pay no tip. That is why most salons have a grace period after you have your hair done in case you are unsatisfied. BTW.. if he didnt since you have had a toner put on your hair because it is dark!!

Should I pay %26amp; tip my hair stylist if he is fixing highlights gone bad?

He over processed you. Well... Did he mess them up. If so, then NO, you shouldnt tip him if you already did once. He messed them up and I guarantee, they are STILL not going to turn out how you want them. He is going to apply a toner to them, which will darken them. Most likely to the point of where you cant even see what he's done to begin with. Everytime I've had a stylist mess up something, they use a toner and pretty much make my hair look like i didnt have anything done. Even my husband cant tell they did anything at all and it still cost like 100 dollars. Dont tip again.

if he is FIXING it, then sure, pay him a couple extra bucks.

if he was the one who made it like that in the first place, though, you shouldn't have to pay at all!

someone told me to use baking soda and water to wash the color off in these kinds of situations, but i personally would just put a subtle brown dye on top of it. one of those natural ones that only dye a little, so that you still have highlights but they're not as light.

No way! I actually had to put a stop pay on a check once because my hair was so awful looking. It was my first time to try a new person out and for some reason she just didn't show up to work so since I was going out of town in 2 days I let another person do it. Big mistake! I went elsewhere to get it fixed so since I did have to pay for that I did a stop pay on my other check. If they mess up then they should fix it for free--you already paid and tipped for what you wanted and didn't get.

Should I pay %26amp; tip my hair stylist if he is fixing highlights gone bad?

I think you should, expecially if he does it over and then styles it cuz it is taking up his time that he can be doing someone else.

Should I pay %26amp; tip my hair stylist if he is fixing highlights gone bad?

No do not pay him. Make him fix them and demand a refund, especially since you left there looking like that and he didn't fix it right then.

Should I pay %26amp; tip my hair stylist if he is fixing highlights gone bad?

yes you should pay him because he did perform the service but as far a tip goes a tip is a sign of good service.

Should I pay %26amp; tip my hair stylist if he is fixing highlights gone bad?

if you don't like it you should let him know that's not what you wanted, tell him you are satisfied with your hair... I'm sure he'll fix it.

Should I pay %26amp; tip my hair stylist if he is fixing highlights gone bad?

He should correct his work. You only pay for the service when it is to your satisfaction. You do not have to tip twice. Your regrowth overly lightened is what happened. It sounds like he should be able to resolve this for you. Best of luck.
