Hi, I am about to make an appointment to get my hair colored..my hairdresser talked to me about becoming what she calls a soft brown with a few highlights...where should i have them put the highlights in order to look natural and for the roots to not show so much as they grow? The hairdresser will know where to put the highlights to make it natural looking. Just make sure you talk to her first about your concerns before she does it. That way she knows exactly what you want.

If you want it more natural looksing maybe just get a partial foil with foils in the top section and on the side and a couple in back. You should ask her to "weave" them instead of slicing because slicing will give you that stripe look and weaving is more natural, it blends a little better. Hope that helps.
