I have really dark brown hair (looks black) and i've experimented quite a lot myself. Although it also depends on your skin tone, you might want to try the browns/the brownish reds..... that seems to be the best that works for me, but then again i do have a tan skin. If you have lighter skin, you might want to look into the lighter browns.
