The processing may make your hair a little drier than normal but if your hair is healthy to begin with there should be no problems. With dark brown hair and this being your first time I would do something subtle to start out with and if you like it be more adventuress next time. I would suggest carmel and mocha highlights as this will brighten up around your face and it would also be very pretty for this time of the year. You could even ask about some copper colour as well as these three shades would blend in very nicely together and with the dark brown as the base. Hope this helps, and good luck.

i don't know...ask your hairstylist. he/she'll know the most about what you should do.

Just highlights usually don't dry your hair out like full bleach or anything ;; the only consequence I can think of is if you don't like em you're screwed %26amp; you have to wait while they grow out. Get thin highlights .. they are less obvious when growing out.

Um for a dark brunette I'd recommend golden brown or caramel highlights, esp. framing your face. It will brighten up your hair %26amp; complexion!

RED.

have the stylist use color and only 10 volume developer for soft, natural hi lites or 20 volume for a bit more contrast in color.

heat is what makes the color and bleach develop so the roots lighten faster than the ends.

with bleach (regular hi lite mix) you will have a tendency to go more red.

if you are looking for more of a caramel color go with an ash and 10 or 20 volume developer.

i am a stylist and i think that if you can get away without using bleach (hilite mix) then do it.

some people have such thin , fine hair that doing bleach hilites and coloring over them works much better for volume than most products.

Yes, if you have any red natural highlights in your hair already, you will need ASH in the dye of the kit you chose to use.Example;light ASH blond or dark ash brown. Since your hair is so dark and you don't shouldn't take a chance, unless you want brassy highlights. When you do your hair have someone with you that knows about what you about to be doing,it's worth not taking a chance on your hair. Good luck in the world of color. Pretty fun really as long as you know the tricks of the trade.

The consequences are that maybe it won't turn out as you wanted it. It could look really fake or appear differently than you imagined it.

Since you're a dark brunette, I'd go for red or a medium brown highlights or both.

i get my hair highlighted every 5 months.. it doesn't really damage your hair.. it may dry it out a little if you do it a lot........ an i think you should either get carmel [lighter brown] highlights or something like a deep red maybe.. it depends on your style

there isn't really any consiquence but if you go in water that has clorine or bleach in it your hair could tint a greenish color if you stay in the water too long.

and i think that blonde would look really good with your hair color!

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!
